Evening talk | Do Tulku Rinpoche

In this series of talks, we will delve into the history of liberation in Tibet. Although this great land has produced so many remarkable beings, there are some that stand apart. We will discuss sacred biographies and accounts of great meditation masters from all sects of Tibetan Buddhism. To know about these beings—their struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs—is to know about something much larger than our own lives. Yet, we can learn and derive such profound inspiration from them. If you wish to know the true spirit of Tibet, if you wish to look past the statues and thangkas, and look into the very marrow of this great land, knowing about her heroes is what I would suggest.

In Series 1, we will discuss the lives of:

  1. The Great Dharma King Trisong Deutsen (Nyingma tradition)
  1. Pagor Bairotsana (Nyingma tradition)
  1. Dromtonpa Gyalwey Jungney (Kadampa tradition)
  1. Lord of Yogis Chekhawa (Kadampa tradition)

This is the first in a three-part series exploring the lives of Tibet’s great spiritual figures, presented according to the main traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Series 1 focuses on masters from the Nyingma and Kadampa traditions. Series 2 will highlight great saints of the Sakya and Kagyu schools, while Series 3 will be dedicated to the Gelugpa lineage. Language is English. Registration deadline is one week before.
